10th Annual 2012 SE Ohio Motorcycle Ride
Saturday August 11th 2012,    9:15  AM

Friday Night:  We will have a meet and greet starting at 8:30 PM Friday night at the Motel.  We will have pizza and snacks for everyone just off the lobby and also outdoors.
Denny's Diner across from the Best Western is a great place to eat on Friday night.  The Friday Night Car show at Denny's from 6 PM until about 8:30 PM is a must see.

Where:  Starting at  9:15 AM from the parking lot of the Best Western.  4929 East Pike Zanesville, OH    (740) 453-6300  I-70 exit 160.  Map to Best Western.
We will be ending up back at the Best Western also.

Be gassed up and ready to go by 9:00, short meeting at 9:05 and leaving promptly at 9:15 AM
We are expecting to be back at the Best Western around 5:30 PM.

Description:  Leisurely ride from Zanesville going East, through scenic back roads at times following a few rivers and lakes, Wayne National Forest and along the Ohio River.  Ending up in New Martinsville, WV for lunch at Quinet's Court Restaurant
The Court Restaurant has a home made lunch buffet (with home made deserts) for appx. $9.95, you can also get just the salad bar, or you can order a plate meal.  We have people doing this ride now just to go to the restaurant.  We will have a private area set aside for our group, the owners look forward to seeing us each year with all of the bikes.
From there we will ride South along the Ohio River, then West into the National Forest on 260.  Everyone is encouraged to only ride at their own pace through the curves.
Then route 26 through the forest to the North side of Marietta, we will stop at a covered bridge on route 26 to give everyone a little break.  After taking a bypass on the north side of Marietta we will then take route 60 up along the Muskingum River all the way back to Zanesville.  Planned stops in this portion, Gas Stop and Muskingum River locks #8.
There is very little traffic on these roads on Saturday, making this a very enjoyable ride.

This will be a 217 mile (total) ride.  We will make appropriate gas and rest stops.  There will be plenty of time for socializing.  This is a good opportunity to take a nice ride, meet some new people, and possibly get away for a couple of days.  Everyone is welcome, no matter what you ride.  There will be door prizes to be given away.  Best of all, this ride is free and does not cost anything except food and gas.
If you only want to do the portion of the ride in the morning to the restaurant or the second half of the ride from the restaurant back, that is fine.  If you are only going to do the second half, let us know ahead of time so we can include you in the head count that we give the restaurant that morning.  We will be at the Court Restaurant at approximately noon.

What to expect:  A nice ride through some very scenic and even somewhat challenging roads
A great time and a chance to meet old friends and make a few new ones.  Single riders are welcome (Male and Female), you will find this to be a very social ride and group.  Do not worry about coming alone and not knowing anyone, that will change pretty quickly.
There is very little traffic on these roads when we do this ride.  We will block intersections.

All bikes are welcome, Teresa does ride in the back with a radio so everyone can ride at their own pace.

There are also several clubs and many individuals that participate, so you will most likely see quite a few different bikes.

We do go across the bridge into West Virginia for lunch, so helmets are required for this portion of the ride.
The 2011 SE Ohio ride went very well.  We had a good mix of bikes and another perfect day.  The restaurant could not have been better.  The feedback was 100% positive on the revised route for 2011.
For 2012 the route will be slightly changed giving you a different view of some of the back roads of SE Ohio.
This will be our 10th year hosting this event and we plan on making 2012 the best yet.

Contact:  Teresa or Rick from Value-Accessories with any questions.  Give us an email or call to let us know if you are going on the ride.  We can better plan if we know the approximate number of people.
Everyone is welcome, we have had just about every type and brand of bike on this ride the last several years.

Motel:  If you need a motel room for Friday or Saturday or both nights,  we have reserved a block of rooms at the Best Western at 4929 East Pike, Zanesville, OH    (740) 453-6300.  Very nice rooms and some good parking lot socializing Friday and Saturday nights.  You must give them the reservation number # B508#6 Wiles, when making reservations.  You will need to give them a credit card number to hold a room for you.  The ride starts and ends at this motel.  The meet and greet along with parking lot socializing on Friday night will also be at the Best Western.
The rooms are discounted for this event, $64.99 plus tax a night, (two Queen Beds or one King , up to 4 persons per room).  If you need a smoking room you will need to tell them when making reservations.  Please book early if you are planning on going, the motel does fill up.  Mention Group rate, # B508#6 Wiles, for the group discount.  The motel does have an indoor pool, internet and an included breakfast.  They will have a hose outdoors to wash bikes as well as rags.  They are very accommodating for bikes.  You must make the reservations by 7/30/12 to get this discounted rate.

If you want something a little cheaper or if the Best Western is full,  try the America's Best Value Inn (740) 453-6002, which is directly behind the Best Western.  The America's Best Value Inn is not quite as nice, but cheaper.
